A short but sweet little album of classical yet eerie Japanese music, with appropriate background sounds that really bring you into the feel of the story the album is trying to build. It's slow-paced, but meaningful. Calm and yet tense. It bangs.
Favorite track: ...Into the Cavern beneath the Cliff.
There's always been rumours about the cliffs under the Saruhashi bridge.
Several elder villagers from all the Kai Province even claimed that they heard frequently strange sounds from below. Some say that it is the unresting dead ones, whispering to the passants above them, to beg them to jump from the bridge and lure them forever within the Cavern where it is said Evil spirits dwell...

An absolute masterpiece in ambient music. The atmosphere exuding from the simple melodies give total peace to the listener and embraces you in that cozy, tender environment of a private study full of knowledge. Amazing work by an amazing artist. Gantris

An ominous and foreboding album, Shogun's Castle once again revives ritualistic devotion seeped in a threatening and ancient aura. The combination of Japanese instruments and the general approach and ambiance of dungeon synth works wonderfully to transport the listener into perilous realms. In terms of storytelling this album is an impressive accomplishment as well, it is quite easy to conjure up an interesting journey through the different scenes. MarsDragoner

2024 is starting slow for me: after some catching up, I mainly listened to ambient for the majority of this January. Star Lore is a great addition and discovery, once again being brought to my attention by Ernie Fleetenkieker. Even after having found a favourite track, this album ov enchanting, slightly bemused, wintery ambience is best enjoyed as whole. A great addition to your collection and formidable soundtrack for a secluded stroll through the snowfall. Enchanting from start to finish! David Fischer
